Alexander Mirth, DPT

Alex was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At the age of 19, he joined the United States Navy and served 6 years as a Gunners Mate. His orders led him to San Diego where he was attached to Naval Special Warfare Logistics Support Unit, Group 1, where he provided weapons repair and ordnance management for the Navy Seal Teams. From 2012-14 he was attached to Seal Team 7, and directly supported them during training and deployment to Southeast Afghanistan.

His extensive experience in weapons repair turned into a passion for fixing complex mechanical systems. Alex was honorably discharged from military service in 2016, and he decided to pursue a new field that would challenge him in similar ways. This led him into Physical Therapy and rehabilitation. He first received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University, before returning to Pittsburgh, to finish his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT) from the University of Pittsburgh.

Alex’s goal when treating his patients, is to make their experience unique, tailored to fit their lifestyle and goals, and challenge them appropriately to ensure maximal gains in strength, range of motion, flexibility, balance, mobility and overall function. Outside of physical therapy, Alex’s other passion is producing house music and djing.
