Synergy Orthopedic Specialists

Synergy Orthopedics is an independent orthopedic medical group serving patients. Synergy Orthopedics provides orthopedic evaluation, diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation services, and surgical care. Treatment recommendations are based on each patient’s diagnosis, medical history, goals, and clinical needs.

Sharp HealthCare

Sharp HealthCare is a nonprofit healthcare system serving communities throughout San Diego. Orthopedic procedures may be performed at several Sharp hospitals, depending on the surgeon’s medical staff privileges, patient needs, and other considerations.

Coordinated Orthopedic Care

Synergy collaborates with, but is not owned by, Sharp HealthCare. Several Synergy physicians are Sharp-affiliated surgeons who provide clinic care at Synergy locations and perform surgeries and inpatient procedures at Sharp hospitals, giving patients easy access to both outpatient and hospital-based services.

Orthopedic surgery at Sharp HealthCare may involve processes based on individual patient needs. Some common steps that may occur before and after orthopedic surgery include scheduling an orthopedic consultation, diagnosis and treatment planning, preoperative education for the patient, and discharge and recovery planning.

Hip Replacement Surgery

Evaluation and treatment for hip arthritis and other conditions affecting hip function, including total and partial hip replacement procedures when appropriate.

Knee Replacement Surgery

Assessment and treatment of knee arthritis and joint degeneration, including total and partial knee replacement options.

Hip Preservation Procedures

Evaluation and treatment of conditions such as hip dysplasia, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), and labral tears. Treatment may include non-surgical management or surgical intervention when clinically indicated.

Sports Medicine

Care for sports-related and activity-related injuries, including:

• Ligament injuries
• Meniscus injuries
• Rotator cuff disorders
• Shoulder instability
• Cartilage injuries

Treatment options may include rehabilitation, injections, or surgery when appropriate.

Spine Care

Evaluation and treatment of conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, including:

Foot and Ankle Care

Evaluation and management of bone health, fracture prevention strategies, and treatment of acute orthopedic injuries.

Physical and Occupational Therapy

Rehabilitation services may be recommended before or after surgery to support mobility, function, and recovery.
