The Synergy–UC San Diego Health Partnership

Synergy Orthopedic Specialists is an independent, physician-owned orthopedic medical group whose surgeons perform procedures at East Campus Medical Center while coordinating outpatient care through Synergy’s clinics, imaging centers, and therapy locations across San Diego.

For Synergy patients, evaluations, surgical planning, and follow-up care are coordinated through Synergy Orthopedic Specialists. In contrast, surgeries and inpatient hospital care take place at UC San Diego Health – East Campus Medical Center. Synergy works closely with UC San Diego Health nursing, anesthesia, hospitalist, and rehabilitation teams to provide seamless orthopedic care before, during, and after surgery.

Synergy Orthopedic Specialists collaborates with UC San Diego Health through participation in its clinically integrated network and select UCSD-aligned health plan arrangements. While Synergy remains an independent, physician-owned orthopedic group, this relationship allows many patients to receive orthopedic care from Synergy surgeons while using UC San Diego Health hospitals, such as East Campus Medical Center.
