Growing up – Dr. Allen was active in a variety of sports – as were other members of her family, including her two sisters. Volleyball was a particular favorite of Dr. Allen’s – despite various foot and ankle setbacks along the way.

Jay S. Berenter, DPM, FACFAS

 

As a member of Synergy Orthopedic Specialists Medical Group, San Diego’s largest independent Orthopedic group, Dr. Berenter provides excellence in all aspects of foot and ankle care.

Daniel Brereton, DO

 

Dr. Daniel S. Brereton is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in shoulder and elbow surgery. He received his medical degree from Midwestern University. He completed his orthopedic residency at Riverside University Health System where he served as chief resident.

Dr. David is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a subspecialty certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. His practice focus is arthroscopic and sports medicine surgery.

Kristopher L. Downing, M.D.

 

I strive for meticulousness and attention to detail in all of the general orthopaedic and hand/upper extremity care I provide to patients. This has led to fantastic patient outcomes, even in the face of devastating injury and/or disease.

Seth Camhi, MD

 

Dr. Camhi is a Board Certified Family Physician with additional training in Sports Medicine. He started his medical training at Universidad Autonoma De Guadalajara and completed it at New York Medical College.

John Andrew Grotting, M.D.

 

Dr. Grotting is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine.

Eric Hofmeister, M.D.

 

Eric P. Hofmeister, MD is an Orthopedic Surgeon and Upper Extremity Specialist. He is a retired Navy Captain, having served as Department Head, Director of Surgical Services, Specialty Leader, and the Orthopedic Surgeon on multiple deployments, including two deployments to Iraqi before joining Synergy Medical Specialist Group in 2016.

Rina Jain, MD

 

Dr. Rina Jain is originally from Canada and graduated from the University of Toronto medical school with honors in 1992. She completed a surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Toronto.

Norman Kane, M.D., F.R.C.S. (C)

 

Norman Kane, M.D., F.R.C.S. (C), brings an international breadth of experience to Synergy Orthopedic Specialists Medical Group, and has been board certified in orthopaedics and orthopaedic surgery since 1985.

Michael R. Lenihan, M.D.

 

Michael R. Lenihan, M.D., has been in private practice in San Diego since 1992 and is a Founding Member and Medical Director of Otay Lakes Surgery Center in Chula Vista. He is also a Founding Member and President of Synergy Orthopedic Specialists Medical Group, Inc., a twelve physician orthopaedic group

Michael Muldoon, MD

 

Dr. Muldoon is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and the Uniformed Services, University of the Health Sciences. Dr. Muldoon completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego.

Jonathan J. Myer, M.D.

 

Dr. Myer is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery as well as Orthopedic Sports Medicine by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Lan N. Nguyen, D.O.

 

Dr. Nguyen is a Board Certified in Orthopaedic Trauma. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Chris S. Pallia, M.D.

 

I approach every patient as an individual and look at every problem as important. My goals are not just to relieve pain but to maximize function, through non-operative techniques as well as through surgical correction for injured or diseased joints, tendons, ligaments and muscles.

M. Lucius Pomerantz, M.D.

 

Dr. Pomerantz is an orthopaedic surgeon and upper extremity specialist. His residency training in orthopaedic surgery was at UC San Diego where he was elected chief resident.

Mark Schultzel, MD

 

Dr. Mark Schultzel is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow surgery. His practice focus is shoulder and elbow reconstruction (arthroplasty), arthroscopy, and upper extremity sports medicine surgery.

Dr. Mark Selecky, MD is a Doctor primarily located in Chula Vista, CA. He has 24 years of experience. His specialties include Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. Dr. Selecky is affiliated with Sharp Memorial Hospital

Cris Sherman D.O.

 

Dr. Sherman obtained his Medical degree from the Midwestern University in 2005 and completed his residency and internship in Orthopedic Surgery at Riverside County Regional Medical Center in 2010.

Dear Patients:

As most of you are aware, over the last several days and weeks we have been learning about the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it is impacting our world.  At Synergy Orthopedic Specialists, we have one goal that we strive for, and that is to keep you, our patients, and our employees safe.  This has been the topic of our planning and conversations and we have implemented several measures to ensure that we do everything possible to reduce the threat of this disease.

Our offices are regularly cleaned and sanitized, but we are now ramping up those procedures to include wiping down counters and other surfaces more frequently.  Additionally, we have hand sanitizer available, and washrooms for thorough hand washing.  We are closely following the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) guidelines and recommendations to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Our employees have been instructed to frequently use antiseptic hand cleaner as well as handwashing per the CDC instructions.  We also encourage our patients to do the same. If our employees feel sick or begin running a temperature, they have been instructed to stay home.  Similarly, we request that patients who are not feeling well, reschedule their appointments and not come to our clinics while they are ill. 

If our employees become ill, our offices may be functioning with less that optimal staffing; therefore, we request your patience if there are longer than average wait times or other delays.  Any location that may have any direct exposure, will be quarantined for cleaning.
